Derrick Gibson is a true conservative with a value system that aligns with many New Yorkers. He is a former Republican candidate for New York State Governor and was the first to officially announce and challenge Governor Andrew Cuomo. He is currently a write-in candidate for NY State Governor.
Gibson is a seasoned political aficionado — appearing at rallies, events and in the media calling out Governor Cuomo for his tyrannical behavior and poor response to the pandemic. He was on the front line for President Donald Trump at all the Stop the Steal rallies and an organizer for many anti-Cuomo events during the lockdown.
Gibson has the support of many groups including moderate Democrats, city residents and independent voters. He works hard at signing up unregistered voters in the inner city as Republicans. Many believe that with the right support, Gibson has the highest chance of any Republican to be victorious in a blue state.

Vision for New York
Gibson will fight for small and local businesses and support law enforcement alongside sensible reform. He will work hard at reforming education and expanding school choice, and will champion fair elections in the state of New York.
He believes that exceptional personal integrity is the backbone of any political campaign. The decline of New York State is unacceptable. Gibson will fight to uphold the Constitution of the United States as it applies to New Yorkers. Political Correctness has been the start of the decline of America — speaking freely and transparently to voters is the only way to win.
From the Streets to the Campaign Trail
Gibson is a current resident of Forest Hills in Queens, New York. He rides the train regularly, where he comes into contact with everyday New Yorkers and hears their real concerns for the state.
If asked why he is running for Governor, Gibson says his upbringing is the answer. Raised by a strong Christian mother who taught all seven of her children the difference between right and wrong. Born in NYC but raised in Georgia, he learned survival skills — fishing, hunting, gardening, and how to conduct himself as a gentleman.
In high school he discovered industrial arts and auto mechanics. He earned a scholarship to South Georgia Technical College, graduating with a degree in automotive technology. He went on to open his own successful auto transmission shops. He also proudly served in the Georgia State Guard.
Later, Gibson earned a degree in criminal justice. Growing up as a Black man in the South with a Christian upbringing and six siblings shaped him deeply. His mother ran a tight ship and instilled in him the meaning of integrity. Today, he is raising his own children the same way — the right way.
Since childhood, Gibson paid close attention to politics and how decisions affected his life. He saw many things that did not align with his Christian values. He decided that when the time was right, he would run for office.
That time is now.
